Ran, Sonoko, and Conan head to a hotel for a cake buffet. On the way there, a molester is stopped by Masumi Sera, who befriends the group. At the hotel, Teigu Usumi killed after being thrown off the hotel while fashioned as a suicide. The police arrive and reveal the annex where the victim vandalized the security camera is the only blind spot in the hotel and most likely the murder location.
